Explore AR {Devil’s Den State Park}

Even in the midst of so many things cancelled and rearranged – it can be easy for our family calendar to fill up before we know it. We’ve missed camping. We’ve missed hiking and being outside and out of cell coverage together. In early August I booked a few campgrounds for us this fall. Our biggest hurdle for camping is just getting it on the calendar – got that hurdle knocked down.

I booked a spot at Devil’s Den state park in Arkansas for Labor Day and the day after. I am not a fan of crowds, so I figured we would arrive when everyone else was leaving. It definitely worked out that way for us and we had the hiking trails nearly to ourselves and the campground was less than half full.

Corbett brought his T-Rex costume. It goes everywhere with him now. It is basically my 6th child and I am perfectly okay with that.

You can’t swim in Lee Creek at the state park, but we were filled in by other campers that there was a local swim hole several miles down the road. Since it was the middle of the week, we had the whole swim hole to ourselves. It was beautiful – and cold!
