Waiting room

“The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning, It’s time to sing Your song again. Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me, Let me be singing when the evening comes.”

  • jodie allen - I’ve been thinking about you guys all morning! My daughter (my first) was born with a hemangioma on her bottom lip that continued to grow so at 16 months (just two weeks before our second daughter was born) we had to have it removed. It was affecting her speech and eating a little plus it was a cosmetic issue we didn’t want her dealing with when she was older. We called it “the bump” and I hated it. It brought unneeded attention when we were out and I had some of the most unkind comments about my less-than-perfect daughter. So you would have thought I was thrilled to have it removed but instead I cried for weeks leading up to the surgery and while we say in the waiting room. I loved her. Bump and all. She was gorgeous and she was mine. I didn’t want to make her “perfect” because she already was to us and to God. She’s seven now and loves her scar… she thinks it makes her look tough! 🙂 I’m glad she has a “normal” lip now that we’re in school and dealing with other little girl issues but I keep a tiny photo of her at 7-8 months old in my wallet because I still miss that little kissable bump! 🙂 All that to say… I just understand where you are today and will be praying for you!
