helping her find her wings

Β (edited) lyrics by Mark Harris, Find Your Wings

original wing tutorial by Erin of Llevo el Invierno, I will share how I made my tweaked version tomorrow

7.12wings-01

It’s only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
7.12wings-02

So many different prayers I’ll pray
For all that you might do
7.12wings-03

But most of all I’ll want to know
You’re walking in the truth
7.12wings-04

May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
7.12wings-09

May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
7.12wings-10

Oh, but more than memories
I want you to know
As I watch you grow
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
7.12wings-05

And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
7.12wings-06

I’m here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings 7.12wings-07

It’s not living if you don’t reach for the sky
7.12wings-11

7.12wings-12

I’m here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

  • Theresa G. - <3 this!!

  • Georgia - This was my prayer for April from the time I first heard the song. As I watched her get in the security line at the airport to move overseas, I was a little sad but mostly my heart was FULL because I was seeing that the Lord had so completely answered my prayer. I was cheering loudly in my heart. The joy of watching your child ‘fly’….nothing like it!

  • Sharon - Im crying… So sweet! And I have a couple of girls who need those wings!!

  • Gracie@kitchentableart - Ashley You are unbelievably awesome. I love hearing about your life and hope that I will one day have a family and love them as much as you love yours. Thank you for sharing your life with strangers!!

  • Ruth - That is so beautiful, you bring tears to my eyes and firecracker looks so filled with joy and exuberance, its a true gift to have caught that on film. very moving.

  • Gabriela - I’m considering stopping to read your blog, because you make me cry on a weekly basis, and that can’t be good.
Just kidding on the part of not reading -I’m really addicted to your writing and your pictures- but not on the crying part. I’ve known your child since she was born, (on the internet of course, I live in Spain) and I’m constantly amazed by her. I couldn’t thnk of a more fitting song for you and your child -all of your children, in fact-. I’m really sure that she’s is up for great things, and that all of the Campbell children will be life-changing people for those who sorround them.

  • Kerry - Utterly moved by your motherly love.

These gorgeous wings transport me back to when my 13 year old would wiggle out of her blanket “cocoon” and flap her butterfly wings as she danced throughout the house.
