diy {layered paper bookmark}

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week…I thought I’d share a couple of ideas in case you are looking for something to give the phenomenal teachers in your life. The first is just a simple book marker to go along with a book, magazine or maybe a bookstore giftcard.

To make the bookmark I used pages from an old book (one that I use just for crafts…not a classic don’t worry 🙂 ). I cut 4 pages to be 2 inches wide. I used double sided tape to tape the pages together with a ribbon in between pages 2 & 3. So in the end I had 4 layers of paper and a ribbon in the middle.

Next I used random craft supplies to add layers: masking tape, scrapbook paper, baker’s twine, paper doily & initial stamp.

Earlier this week one of my projects was featured on Skip To My Lou as part of a Teacher’s Appreciation Series.

If you are looking for more ideas for fun gifts for the teachers in your life (or really gifts for anyone!), check out what the other bloggers contributed.

Lots of easy and creative ideas!
