To answer some comments and emails all at once concerning yesterday’s post…
1. You can find detailed instructions on how to make the pillowcase dresses on the Little Dresses for Africa website
2. Please share the idea with others, please put a link on your blog, please start a group – that is why I posted it! We did have one little girl join us for a bit and my boys are now asking to make some dresses too. So it is a great thing to do with kids!

Kari Sanchez - Hey Ashley,
I thought of another idea to add to designing the dress, might work with kids getting involved. You could let the little one’s draw stick people, pictures, etc…scan into your computer and print on iron-on paper, transfer to the dress. Or let the older ones decorate with fabric markers. Just an idea to get the younger and older kids involved and put their handywork into the gift!
Shanalea Atchison - Ashley, I love this idea. I shared it with out global perspective person at our church. I am hoping we can get something started there.
Laura - Ashley, I just have to say you have really inspired me with this. I am already thinking about having parties with our dance friends, our friends from school our friends from church, etc. What is really neat is my daughter will absolutely love to do this. I am going to have her help me plan and organize etc. She is so much more creative than me and she is 7. Fun, I can’t wait to tell her about it! Also, wouldn’t it be cool if we could somehow incorporate an element of this into our Christmas Gathering at church? Just think, if all of those ladies only made 1 dress, think of how many dresses we would have to send. It would also make it an outreach and not just about us getting a lot of cool stuff!!! Hmmmm, don’t know if it would work logistically but I am thinking maybe I will send Denise an email. So much about logistics, huh? Thanks again!!!
Sarah Adams - Ashley, thank you so much for sharing. This posting brought tears to my eyes…
Flea - How very cool! Laura was telling me about your dress party, so I came over to see what it’s all about. My pillowcase dresses are a bit fancier, but I’d love to have a party and make these. I think I’ll link to you and post about it! Thanks!
Charlene Durham - I would like to make little dresses for Africa.
