Well, to be honest, I am cryng when I read some of the lesons, especially on details of telling a story. I always think I am this fun mom and I do relish the details of my kids. Now I can finally capture moments of the day to day and then let others, or even me, go back and relive them. You have given me the gift of posterity. – Lori

This is the third class I’ve taken to try and gain some insight into shooting in M.  I almost didn’t sign up because I was afraid I would be left just as bewildered and overwhelmed as I was in the past.  I knew all the steps (ISO settings, shutter speed, f/stops, etc.) but in my mind it all = too much fiddling and missed moments.  Something about your teaching style finally made it “click” for me!  At last! – Michelle

This class was awesome! I have tried time and again to figure out all the buttons and features on my camera by sitting down with it and the manual only to quickly close it up, frustrated. Ashley you are Wonder Woman!! I honestly cannot tell you how wonderful this course has been for me. It makes me excited about my DSLR all over again!! It’s like Christmas morning! Your writing, your examples, your structure – all so easy to follow and understand and it has made things so much clearer to me. Ashley, I can’t thank you enough. I feel like I finally understand this camera that I spent so much to own! I have friends and family who have more expensive cameras (I shoot on a Nikon D3100) but have no idea how to use the manual settings, and after this class, I feel not only pretty comfortable shooting in manual, but confident that I will be able to keep learning and improving thanks in huge to the basic knowledge that you shared with me. Oh Ashley!  I just finished!!  I have been following your blog now for over a year.  I had always wanted to attend one of your SnapShot classes, but since I live in California the option was always a bit out of my reach.  That is why I jumped at the chance to take this class.  I tried to be a sponge and soak all it in.  I now have a new affection for my camera!  It is so evident that you poured some of your heart and soul into writing this.  How fitting that you will be given another soul to love and embrace in your heart.  Well done Ashley, well done! – Devon

I’ve learned SO much through this course! Every day I put my boys down for naps, make a cuppa jo and sit down at my laptop to get through as many sections as I can–it’s been such a treat! I’m totally new to photography…just got my dslr a couple of months ago, and this snapshop was such a great intro to shooting manually. Thanks for explaining everything in easy-to-understand language, and using your beautiful photos as examples. We’re now on vacation in the Northwest for a couple of weeks, and I’m proud to say I’ve taken all my pics in manual mode…it’s been so much fun! At the end of each day, I download them all to my computer to sort through–and while I definitely have room for improvement, I’ve captured some great memories. Thanks so much for making this available online–I’ve enjoyed every single minute of it and will definitely be recommending your course to friends and family! – Lisa

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have had my camera for about 2 years now and I could never figure out how to capture good shots in manual. I couldn’t for the life of me put everything together.
